Two Rolls-Royces paying homage to South Korea may seem a little strange, but the British brand wanted to celebrate more than ten years of good relationship with the launch of these special cars. It was in 2004 that Rolls-Royce landed in Seoul with its first showroom, while in September of that same year inaugurated the second in the city of Busan, the two largest cities in the country and to which the brand really pays homage.
First comes the Rolls-Royce Ghost Seul Edition, which arrives with a white Andalusian body decorated with a red band Mugello and Cobalt blue, as well as a hand-painted motif illustrating the profile of the city’s Namsan Tower. It’s inside the Rolls-Royce Ghost where magic really takes place, as the interior has been upholstered in black leather with white accents to create contrast, while the Cobalt blue stitching and different details in red Mugello give the finishing touch. The second vehicle is the Rolls-Royce Wraith Busan Edition, where the manufacturer joined the royal blue tones and silver Jubilee on the body with a track finished in pink blushing. The Rolls-Royce design team presented an extravagant motif on the rear pillar that represents a geometric pattern that draws on the traditional gate rails in Korea. Meanwhile, the interior of the Rolls-Royce Wraith features a Selby Gray upholstery adorned with Cobalt blue and Merino blue, while sound equipment with 18 speakers and 1,300 watts makes travel easier.
2017 – ROLLS-ROYCE GHOST BLACK BADGE UK POLICE
Over the years we have seen the most impressive police vehicles, not only because of the spectacular Dubai Police fleet, but because in other countries there are also some police cars that impress. There are many examples, such as the Lamborghini Huracán of the Italian police, the Austrian Porsche 911 or the radical BAC Mono of the Isle of Man. And now we must add this Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge from the Sussex police in the UK. The Sussex Police Rolls-Royce Ghost is based on the most powerful, sporty and exclusive version of the Rolls-Royce model. It is a sedan of 5.39 meters in length that is equipped with a supercharged 6.6 V12 engine that develops a maximum power of 611 hp and a torque of 840 Nm, which means an increase of 40 hp and 60 Nm in relation to one Normal Ghost. These Black Badge versions are also available on the Wraith coupe and the Dawn convertible. As you can see in the pictures, this British Police Rolls-Royce Ghost is decorated like a real patrol car. It appears in the colors of the police vehicles of Sussex, and it has the necessary basic equipment to carry out the police works. Of course you will not be seen patrolling the streets nor parked in front of a police station as this Rolls of Police was set up for a good cause .
It was Rolls-Royce’s way of supporting the Chichester Police Open Doors Day and raising funds for the Chestnut Tree House, a center that welcomes children in need and currently has about 300 children under its care toyota camry car covers.
2017 – ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM LAST EDITION
The latest generation of the seventh generation Rolls-Royce Phantom is a very special version built on the chassis with elongated wheelbase and was produced especially for a collector of British brand models. The car measures 6.092 mm in length – 250 mm more than the normal body – and was elaborated under the nautical theme at the request of its owner. It incorporates a long list of custom equipment that simulates what can be found on a luxury cruise ship. Among the equipment, stand out true works of art, as are the paintings on the panel and which reproduce the cruise ships of the 30’s of last century. The clock and even the instruments, all of them imitating nautical instruments. The clock is embedded in a rotating circle that displays 24 time zones, allowing each one to rotate the frame to the time zone where it is located. There are wave effects on rugs, made by hand-made cuts, the same is done on some door coverings, and the exterior color of the vehicle is a velvety blue, a reference to the colors of the ocean. The tires have white stripes and the ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ is made of solid silver. In mechanical terms the car has not received any changes, maintaining the V12 6.75-liter engine with 460 hp and 719 Nm, which allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 238 km / H.
The Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase costs in Europe just over 500,000 euros and although the British brand has not disclosed its price, it certainly must have cost more than 1 million euros. Finished production of the Phantom VII, begins the work of adapting the assembly line for the new model, the eighth generation of the Phantom, which will arrive in 2018 and will have an all aluminum architecture.
2017 – ROLLS-ROYCE SWEPTAIL
Although it looks like a concept, this special unit presented by Rolls-Royce at the Concorsod’Eleganza Villa d’Este last weekend is a copy requested by a customer, so it is not a design exercise or a prototype of hall. Named after Rolls-Royce Sweptail, this strange unique model uses the current Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe as a base, although it’s on very little, since even its body comes up well modified with specific forms, mainly in the rear. The reason for the design is very simple, because it is about reproducing the profile of a boat, more specifically a luxury yacht with the body of the Phantom Coupe, that for this it acquires these forms so strange, but that looking of profile can be clearly seen influence. The rear has a strange angle and the entire rear of the passenger compartment takes on shapes and designs similar to those used on this type of boat. The top view is the most striking, because from the top is the new triangular rear window, whose lower vertex ends at the same edge of the trunk, which continues the line of the ceiling fully glazed, and from where the interior modifications are perceived. At the front is where the area less altered appears, but still has new shapes, such as larger circular headlights, the traditional grille of the brand that now occupies part of the bumper and a chrome frame that uses demarcating the entire front. In relation to the interior, the entire rear of the passenger compartment now features wood paneling and leather details, with vessel shapes and designs. Nothing is known about the customer requesting the model or the price paid for this single piece, but at least it is known that it is an individual who lives in a country that drives with the right handwheel, such as the United Kingdom, Japan or Australia.
2017 – ROLLS-ROYCE WRAITH BY JON OLSSON
Jon Olsson, the famous professional skier, has already presented several spectacular and fully customized cars with which he participates in an annual event like the Gumball 3000. His latest project is a Rolls-Royce Wraith of 820 hp. After a spectacular Audi RS6 Avant DTM with 1,000 hp and a totally modified Lamborghini Huracán , arrives this Rolls-Royce Wraith that impresses not only for its extreme style, but also for the enormous power extracted from its V12 engine. In terms of aesthetics, Jon Olsson’s Wraith features a black-and-white sticker simulating camouflage, additional headlights and a bar in the ceiling that includes a surfboard. Other highlights include 24-inch wheels, tinted glass and a custom exhaust system. But it’s under the hood where the whole essence really comes in. The Rolls-Royce standard features a supercharged 6.6 liter V12 engine that produces 630 hp and 820 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.4 seconds and reach an electronically limited maximum speed of 250 km / h. However, Olsson’s team has put in place a number of non-detailed improvements that boost power up to 820 hp, which certainly changes their performance figures.
2016 – ROLLS-ROYCE 103EX VISION NEXT 100 CONCEPT
With the commemorations of the 100th anniversary of BMW, we already know the BMW Vision Next 100, a prototype that anticipated the future of the Munich brand. Now BMW decided to extend the celebration to its two other brands: Rolls-Royce and MINI. In the case of the prestigious 112-year-old British luxury brand, the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 anticipates what the future of ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ cars might look like on the hood. In the design and development of the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 was taken into account the evolution of the luxury market, exclusivity, customer requirements and the merger between the Rolls-Royce tradition and the most advanced technology of the future. On the face of it, the electric motor of this prototype makes it clear that the big V12 engines will not be present, or at least will not be so important in the future of Rolls-Royce.
Although Rolls-Royce is a very traditional brand, the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 did not seek past memories and the design team did not look in the rearview mirror to take into account the future, far beyond the classic and dispensable grille on an electric vehicle and hand-made radiator figure. As a result comes a flashy car built on a new platform of lightweight materials that is based on the pillars Personal Vision, Grand Sanctuary, Effortless Journey and Grand Arrival.
Although Rolls-Royce only deals with the future with the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100, the first pillar of this new philosophy in vehicle construction reminds us a lot of the brand’s past. Maximum customization will go far beyond interiors, materials and color combinations. The new technologies applied in the construction of the chassis will allow each customer to choose from the size of the vehicle to the shape of the body, without forgetting the things that are already the taste of customers.
The interior of the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 should be the most faithful interpretation of each owner’s luxury. Authentic, sustainable and high quality materials will be in charge of creating an atmosphere of comfort and well-being. By making use of the latest technologies in autonomous driving, the interior of this concept eliminates the driver’s seat, steering wheel and other instruments, because in the future, more than ever, traveling in a Rolls-Royce will be like traveling in the living room.
With the Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 the Brits introduce Eleanor, the travel assistant. The artificial intelligence of this system will be the way to integrate all the functions imaginable in a discreet way, avoiding an interior full of screens and buttons. An ethereal and digital view of the ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ on the OLED screen that occupies the place of the panel will await the orders. Eleanor’s name is not casual, as it was named after Eleanor Thornton, who inspired the sculptor Charles Robert Sykes to carve the iconic figure of the hood.
The Rolls-Royce Vision Next 100 will allow you to access the seats through the large door. Its Grand Arrival concept has a lot to do with the way the roof and the door of the vehicle opens, facilitating the exit of the fully erected passengers. A projection of light will draw a red carpet. Ingenious solutions such as the umbrellas on the doors and the glitzy trunk of this concept will be maintained, which is located in front of the vehicle.
